GREY CUP

The Grey Cup is both the name of the Canadian Football League's championship game and its trophy and is contested between the East Division and West Division champions every November and donated by the Earl Grey, then Canada's governor general, in 1909.
DID YOU KNOW?
It has been played by amateur and college sides, with the University of Toronto winning the first 3 Grey Cups and exclusively by Canadian teams except for 1993-1995.
During the Second World War, three Grey Cup games (1942-1944) were contested by military teams. The winners were the Toronto R.C.A.F. (1942), Hamilton Flying Wildcats (1943) and Montreal St. H-D Navy (1944).
BALTIMORE STALLIONS
Baltimore Stallions became the first American team to win and lose the Grey Cup in 1994 (82nd) and winning it in 1995 (83rd).
MOST SUCCESSFUL TEAMS
Toronto (17), Edmonton (14) and Winnipeg (10) are the most successful, with Winnipeg appearing in the most (24). Edmonton have made the most since 1958 (11) and most appearances (19) as well as winning 5 consecutive games from 1978-1982. Saskatchewan have lost the most (15) with 5 consecutive losses (1928 to 1932).
HOME VICTORIES
It has been won at home only 6 times in 1972 (Hamilton), 1977 (Montreal), 1994 and 2011 (British Columbia), 2012 (Toronto) and 2013 (Saskatchewan).
FUTURE GREY CUPS
The 2020 Grey Cup will be played at the home of the team with the best record and originally was to be hosted by Regina,SK (Roughriders).
Hamilton will host the 109th Grey Cup in 2021.
Regina will host the 110th Grey Cup in 2022.
